Source: Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Calif.迷你倉Aug. 31--Offering everything from an underwater adventure to the Starship Enterprise, the Los Angeles County Fair marks its' 91st year Aug. 30 at the Fairplex in Pomona.This year's theme is "Unleash Your Inner Fair," which just about covers the new attractions and new food to try, as well as traditional fair favorites.Don't miss "Star Trek: The Exhibition" which has one of the largest collections of authentic Star Trek artifacts from all five television series, along with a timeline wall, motion simulator, interactive kiosks and photo opportunities. Walk aboard the bridge and sit in Captain Kirk's chair. Admission is $5.Also new is "Beneath the Sea: An Underwater Adventure" which allows visitors to get close to the view sharks, stingrays, sea lions and other creatures of the deep in a 5,000-gallon tank. A Sea Monsters Traveling Exhibit and Melissa the Mermaid are also a part of this new attraction."Pencils 2 Pixels: The Art of Animation" is new this year where guests can explore animation and sign up to learn the techniques and stories behind some of the most beloved characters in animation history.Tropical birds, a sloth, emerald boas, toucans and other rainforest creatures are part of the "Mysteries of the Amazon" landscape exhibit inside the Flower & Garden Pavilion.Making a return is Esmeralda's Traveling Circus, which comes complete with aerial artists, a petting zoo, and a flea circus. Also included are circus schools with classes in juggling and flying on a trapeze.Cirque du Feu combines old school circus with modern day theatrical stunts.Possibly the most popular part of the fair is Mojo's African Safari. The Weeper Capuchin monkey returns to the L.A. County Fair to lead guests on an African safari adventure. Zebras, reptiles, insects, exotic birds and monkeys are some of the many animals to meet in thi儲存 African habitat. Mojo's safari show introduces a plethora of animals like Brutus the Hedgehog, a boa constrictor and other exotic friends. Fiona's Perch houses exotic birds from all over the world. Iggy's Insect Counter allows guests to meet and touch the Fair's creepiest crawlers.Safari Village hosts a wide variety of animals, from an African-crested porcupine to a capybara, described as the largest rodent in the world. Daily feedings may be viewed by fair visitors. The Safari Village hut features a live steel drum band and Spike's Reptile Territory houses the safari's scaled inhabitants.FairView Farms is a working farm with interactive activities, stage shows, farm animals, goat milking and Barnyard Racers Pig Races.There's horse racing, celebrity entertainment and several buildings filled with vendors selling the latest "must-haves."As for food, look for the six-foot long Cardinali Wood Fire Pizza's "Mombo Italiano Pizza;" spaghetti ice cream; deep-fried red velvet cake; 12-inch pretzels in cinnamon, garlic and plain and Dr. Bob's Handcrafted Ice Cream.Chicken Charlie's has three new items this year: Waffle Dogs, the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe and cheesy bacon bombs.The Fair also offers a lot of promotions and daily deals to cut down the price of admission, which can be found at LACountyfair.com.Saving the best for last --with the key word being saving -- there is never a good reason to pay full price for fair admission.
